Tulipa pulchella caerulea

North East England, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

This plant has been in flower for quite a while but this month and last have been so cold! We had snow over Easter... The tulip was only open in the sunshine for one day when I came home from work.

Beautiful... what an unusual bluish color in the center!

Yes I don't think there's another tulip like it but it's very easy to grow considering it looks so unusual.

One of the bulbs I say I am going to get every year, but never seem to. Thanks for posting, G.

That is stunning! I've never seen that one on this side of the pond!

This is one of the plants at the recent AGS show and will (I suspect) make you want this more..

As lovely as they are, I have had no luck keeping the regular T. pulchella going for more than a year, so it would be a lost cause for me to try it. I'l have to live vicariously through you and the alpine shows!

Well as with most tulips I find they don't last long but nice to have for this spring anyway.
