Hi,
I'm new to this forum.
We have a hummer (we think it's the same one) who's lived in our yard for the 3 summers we've been in our house. I assume it's an Anna, because of his ruby chest.
This fall, I put out a feeder for him, when I saw the blooms disappearing for the winter. He's been drinking 6 - 8 oz. a week all winter & seems very comfortable around me, as I garden. I put a second feeder out, about a month ago (because he was chasing another hummer away), but that one has gone untouched.
I'm worried because I haven't seen him or seen a decrease in the nectar for the past ten days. Is this normal behavior this time of the year? Do you think he's finding food in the garden or do you think something's happened to him?
Thanks.
Liz
Where is my hummer?
Hi Liz,Well as long as there is some nectar being drank I'd assume he is just going more for the nectar from plants.
Keep us posted! :-)
Most likely going for natural food sources

Pelletory, I'm sure sure that the nectar is decreasing at all, except a little bit of evaporation...
Resin, I sure hope that he's finding food around the garden, not being food for the kitties!
Thanks for responding.
