I bought this Ficus Bonsai and the guy told me it was around 30 years old. I don't really care about the age. Just curious. As I read through the threads here someone else was inquiring about the age of their Ficus and were told it was probably from a cutting. How would that be done?
Thanks for any info~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How to tell age?
...you could always cut it is half and count the rings... :oD
Thanks Herby :P
Not on a Ficus, you can't. Growth rings on tropical trees correspond with growth spurts & slowdowns that aren't necessarily associated with an annual cycle. The tree pictured is likely 4-5 years old from a branch cutting.

Tapla: Interesting...Why is it that they age like that? Is it do to the lack of real winters thus throwing off an annual cycle? Do tropical plants in a tropical location grow all year since it is warmer?
