Can you put cut daffs in with other cut flowers?

I posted this in the Cut Flowers forum but no reply yet.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't do a mixed bouquet that includes daffs because they excrete a toxic substance into the water. Anyone know if this is true? I was just getting ready to put together a bouquet of daffs, grape hyacinths, and tulips..
