i brought this homely thing home from a nursery for free some time ago and planted it away from everyone cause no one knew what it was or what it would do. (it was dropped off at the nurseries front gate like an unwanted puppy lol ) it has very unusual leaves and i'm thinking its some kind of citris thing. the leaves have that citrusy smell to them like an orange tree would. havent seen any flowers yet but has huge thorns scattered all over. any ideas anyone??
What is this??
The stem and thorns look like an orange tree. I had one as a house plant for a few years. Can't tell about the leaves because of the angle.
if you click on the thumbnail it will show a whole leaf. it has an extra part on it that ive never seen before
I think it is a Grapefruit. The little lobe at the base of the leaf, to me, says Grapefruit.
It might be a lemon or lime-they both have thorns.
Yes I've never seen a leaf like that. Makes it look like a big green jungle bug.^_^
yay!! i googled the grapefruit and other citris leaves and grapefruit wins!! looks just like it. i have had that stupid thing for about a year and didnt know what it was... i felt it belonged int he citris but didnt know for sure. thanks you thank you!!!! gold star for you grownin!!! does sorta look like a big bug huh? lol i will have to now move it into a sunny spot now.
ok now that thats done, im kinda new to dg, how do we close the thread?
Hi Shokami, I think we can only actually close threads in certain forums, like plant Id, seed/plant trading, and co-ops. :)
(Yum! Grapefruit!)

Good luck with your Grapefruit!
