Would love to have about l0 of these or so, decent sized ones. I have tons and tons to trade. Ijust had my clove current id'd and I want some more to line a fence with, Their so fragrant, It keeps me working in my veggie garden so much longer just so I can take in all the fragrance of the one little plant that I have blooming now LOL.

I'll go see if I can copy and past e alist from another trading post i've made, to give you some plants to trade .

Let meknow if you have any.

cathy, what's the botanical name if you know? this sounds so interesting and i just might have to have one too.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Ribes odoratum I spelled it wrong, it's clove currant . Sorry. SMELLS wonderful. I didn't see this particular one in the PDB but here's some pictures on a google search

yikes, it's l0.00 at forestfarms. I don't want to buy it that bad.

Any traders out there? I was told it spread fast, but mine hasnt done a thing in the spreading department

(Zone 1)

I found it in Plant Files: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/55413/ wish it grew in my area!

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

I'll grow enough for you Linda, maybe you can smell them through the puter. DH says everything smells like honeysuckle. these don't, they smell better.

(Zone 1)

ummmmm ... aaaaaah ... I think I can smell them all the way to Florida! ^_^

I love the fragrance of cloves, but after reading more about the Clove Currant plant, I don't think I'd want to grow it because of the thorns/barbs! I don't like thorny plants! I had a large cactus collection many years ago and got sooo tired of being jabbed by thorns! Swore I'd never have another thorny plant. Well ... I love Bougainvillea's and have a couple of them and boy do they have thorns!

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

does it have berries? are they called currants? always wondered what those were. are they tart?

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

no this one is the non fruiting one, and just the fragrant flowers, is why I don't think it has the barbs. i'm gonna check mine for sure, but i've messed with it severaltimes and no barbs were visible

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

I have the fruiting kind-black currants and they have that clove smell and they reseed :)

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

sure i would trade a nice size plant for a couple french pink pussy willow cuttings!

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

WEll, I'll send alot more than a couple, to make it worth your while, my will ow is the french pink pussy willow and it's 9 feet tall, LOL I have to bend the branches to take cuttings.

want to wait till this monday to ship? I've got a loaded week this week.

my addy is in the exchange. and I thank you.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

yes Im busy this week too!
i will ship then and im in the exchange too!

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

I'll even throw in some that you can put in a vase. They have the pussy willows on them, I pick these right when they start blooming, and these at this particular stage won't root for you, just the ones with the green leaves on them will.

course their only pink the very first day, then they turn whitish grey, I have no idea why they call it the french pink pussy willow, it's very fragrant when the calex turn to flower.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

oh , ya'll wouldn't believe it but I found 3 babies under mine today. So I'm just gonna close this and tellyou guys that are looking for them, they multiply the first year LOL

so if you find one, I'll have some maybe if they keep multiplying. watch for babies on yours.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)
