Last week I registered at Epiforums.com and it seemed like my registration went through just fine. I have been unable to post or download files-I keep getting a message that says I don't have permission. I have tried to "contact us" to inquire about my problems but get an error page when I try to send it. I have cleared my cookies, signed off and on multiple times on 3 different computers and it still doesn't work for me. If anyone here is a member of that forum, do you have an alternate email addy for someone who can help me?
Thanks!
Deb
Is anyone a member of Epiforums?
Not me, but many forums have someone be a regular poster for a week or more before they grant more privileges. Every forum is weird in some way.
Im a member but the only contact I have is the one on the home page. And it opens fine for me.

What user name did you register? I could look you up on the members list to see if your membership went thru.
And I could post a message thru to the admin if you like. Dmail me!
Good idea-thanks, fancyvan!
ETA: I was unable to find my name on the member list. I was, however, able to send a PM to the forum administrator, so hopefully that works. Thanks again for the suggestion!

OK hope that works - it is a great resource for epie owners
I joined this forum than a few days later I got a email saying that it was hacked into because the owner did not use some kind of a secure web or something. That scared me and I never went back to it. Some how they got my email addy (which probably is not hard) but they said they also got my password and all other information.

The hacker got your email? How long ago was that? That's scary-hopefully the weak link is fixed now.
Yes, a few months ago (3-4). I never use my home email, only my hotmail, but it was a bit scary. I didn't even verify the menbership because it spooked me way too much.

I had the same thing happen in November, 2007, but I've been a member for a long time now. I reported it to the administrator. They are aware of the problem, and it hasn't happened since. Here's a thread about it: http://www.epiforums.com/showthread.php?t=2163
Ah yes I remember readin g that Clare. Ive been a member for a couple of years - never had any issues like that.
Well, something to be aware of, anyway. My PM to the administrator went through and my registration was completed. They told me the moderators had probably not approved my account because I didn't provide enough information (I told them where I live, what I do and when my BD is, so I'm not sure what more I could have added) so perhaps they are on the lookout for suspicious folks trying to get in (hmmm . . .I've never thought of myself as being suspicious . . .). Anyway, my account was approved and I've been busy learning!
Thanks for all your help-
Deb
Maybe I will try to join them again, than.
