Musa acuminata sumatrana (Rojo) question.............

Chattanooga, TN(Zone 7a)

Zone 7 here...

I have kept my Rojo in the basement for the winter and cut the stalks down the bottom before storing.

Just before I brought it ourside, I mistakenly (I guess) gave it a little water and it sent out some pale leaves (See pic).

Should I cut them back to the bottom again or just put it outside and hope they turn green?

Thanks - Jimmy

If you put the plants outdors those pale leaves will be burnt right away unless you put the plant under heavy shade, I would cut back. I have this plant in the garden and the color is quite dark.

i have mine planted where it receives afternoon shade. the florida sun just burns the new foliage as soon as a leaf unfurls.

It sure needs some shade but the more water you provide the more sun it will take, I am right on the Capricorn tropica and summer sun is no joke here...
