Tillandsia unknown

Acton, CA(Zone 8b)

I have collected a number of tillandsias that are unidentified, and I have not bothered to figure out what any are until they flower... so here's one flowering now... flower is about 18" long. Any suggestions?

Looks like tillandsia duratii. Have you tried smelling it? Those blooms smell wonderful!

Sure could be duratii, one of my favorites. Aside from the womderful fragrance, duratii has contorted tubular leaves that spiral very neatly.

Oh yes, I saw one at the Bromeliad show at the Selby Gardens in Sarasota, FL that was about four feet high. It was just amazing to see.

thanks so much
