I purchased my ammonium nitrate this morning from Southern States in Louisburg, NC.
Southern States and their affiliates seem to be about the only source around my area that still stocks ammonium nitrate. Most everyone else stocks ammonium sulphate, which may work just as well. I just haven't ever tried it.

Ammonium Nitrate is regulated and you'll probably have to show some ID to the sales clerk. No big deal.
