Bergenia fanatics?

Russell, ON(Zone 5a)

Hello all patient gardeners, especially those back East in the snow!

Does anyone else grow Bergenias? This is Appleblossom, my favourite and I added this photo to the Plant Files database today. It's in the queue for checking. I have 2 other varieties that are not blooming yet, but these are what I wait for in the spring.

Taken today in North Vancouver.

Your flowers look much more delicate than mine....as soon as they bloom I will take a photo and show you. That may be a while as we just had a big dump of the white stuff!
Is the Appleblossom a zone 3?

Beautiful!!

I love them but mine always bloom under the leaves, they never send up a spike for some reason. Still pretty, even though I have to get on all fours to see them!

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

Wonderful! Thanks a5footsea for adding the image to Plantfiles. I always laugh at the common name, "Pig Squeek". Once I show someone where the name comes from they laugh.

Here's 'Baby Doll'

annabell52 - zone question is a good one - the A-Z encyclopedia of Garden Plants lists 3b as the coldest zone. I'm in a 7b zone (a bit higher altitude than 'growin'). Bergenias do very well in full sun in this area. I'm partial to the varieties that have a nice high flower stalk. I have some of the dark pink cultivars, but one was mislabeled at the nursery.

Really like Baby Doll - nice clusters!

This is 'the unknown'. Can anyone name it?

I'm not sure which one that is but nice blooms. I've got a row of the same coloured blooming ones out front of my house.

Bergenia cordifolia 'Rotblum' or 'Redbloom'.
