Identity crisis - help please!

Hampton Roads, VA(Zone 7b)

This was one of a bag of mixed pink tulips. I think it may be 'Easter Bonnet,' but can anyone confirm? The bloom opened yesterday. The black specks are dirt splashed on from last night's rain.

My choices (assuming they were bagged correctly) are Spring Pride, Salome, Accent, Easter Bonnet, Pink Parasol, and Pink Pride.

Many thanks!

And here's one more pic.

The shape fits Easter Bonnet, the colour looks much brighter than any on PF.

It's not Salome, nor Accent.

Spring Pride at vanengelen, but they don't have it on the site now. As that is one you bought it could be that one.

Not Pink Parasol,

The cup on Pink Pride looks too shallow and not flared enough,

Thank you for the info and links, wallaby1. The color was throwing me off, but I thought perhaps our rainy overcast sky was affecting the intensity. Those pix were taken this morning, and I just took this one.
I was able to view a thumbnail from vanengelen and agree that it may very well be Spring Pride. http://www.vanengelen.com/photos/thumbs/8493.THUMB.jpg

I tried that link but it didn't work, yes I feel it's Spring Pride too. The pale area below the pink frill and green throat seem to match up well.

Super-thanks!

to my untrained eye, it looks a lot like my Pink Charm.

Edited to change Pink Pride to actual name "Pink Charm", oops!

I agree, it looks very similar. What to do...except not buy these mixed bags of bulbs anymore! Thank you for posting your pic, tracie.

Plantmover, I don't hit the bulb forum too often, but I believe this website will be really helpful, maybe too late for this flower, but in the future?

It's the database of the AmericanDaffodilSociety

What a terrific site-thanks so much, Suzy!

You're welcome -- I didn't have much to do with its making, but I am inordinately pleased with it.

They don't have a pic of Spring Pride on Daffseek, I have that in my favourites but forget to use it!

They have 2 pics of Pink Pride, one looks like the pics on a google search (with some looking different!), the ohter pic looks like Salome!

I copied the 'Pink Pride' from Daffseek which seems to match most on google.

aggie, the one you call 'Pink Charm' on the 'pink' thread is the same as the one you call 'Pink Pride' on this thread, lol.

All these 'Pink' names can get confusing!

lol...too many pinks, but thanks all for your help!

Wow, can't tell you what it is, but I can say I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands! LOL That is one gorgeous daffodil! I had to go look up all the possible identities so I know what to order next year.

I keep ordering those mix packs, and then knocking myself out trying to figure out what my favorites are! This is one I just planted last year. . .wish I knew what it was, so I could order more! LOL

lol...beautiful bloom, Booker.

I'm in a love-hate relationship with those mixed bags of bulbs. When they were 50% off, I was loving them; but by the time more 'pinks' bloomed, I was already a bit frustrated trying to ID. Decided just to enjoy them!

The good news is they will all be in the catalogs from the year you purchased the collections.......if you bought your collection last year (last fall), go through all the catalogs you can put your paws on from 2007 and your flowers will be in there. And nowadays, thanks to Brent and Becky Heath, all the catalog items have individual photos. There won't be any surprises in your mixed bulbs because of the 100s or even 1000s of hectares that are planted with each variety.

Anything that would be the slightest bit unusual will never be in those mixes because it will be at a premium price because of the specialized and individualized treatment it would need to keep it separate.

How good a sleuth are you? :))

lol... I totally forgot about Brent & Becky's (kinda embarrassing seeing how they're just up the road from here). I'm gonna have another go at IDing these - thanks Suzy!
