Zoe's tropicals? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/830846/
Not criticizing but isn't it unusual that the folks writing DG articles or coordinating co ops on hibiscus are not regulars here. Don't they know how great we are (LOL) or that we can direct them to the reliable growers????
Anyone ever heard of.......
They're not listed in Watchdog as Zoe's Tropicals, but there is a listing for floridaplants.com and they have 2 neutrals and 9 negatives. Probably not someone I'd order from! LOL Honestly, I bet a lot of people don't even know there's a hibiscus forum. I would think people writing articles would be familiar with what forums we have, but for hosting co-ops I bet they just didn't know we were here!
I'll go over there and post a suggestion...
William Gravitt, who runs (or ran) Zoe's Tropical, is one of the first growers in Florida. Most of the exotic hibiscus that you see in Home Depot come from him.
I don't know now but in the past his plants were treated with Cycocel and Gibberellic acid. There were, there is and there will always be a controversy with the use of those growth retardants. In my own experience all the plants that I bought and that were treated with Cycocel died in less than two years.
Regards
Carlos
