I have been in search for these plants for a long time. It seems no one offers them for sale. Is anyone growing these plants? I am very interested in trading or buying any of them if possible.
trapa natans
equisetum telmateia
Hippuris Vulgaris
Stratiotes Aloides
Looking for a few certain plants
I found sagittaria natan & dwarf horsetails at Hughes water garden
http://www.thewatergardenshop.com/ . They are located in Oregon.
The other two...no clue. good luck
Brian you may have luck with the victoria adventures mailing list, I don't believe trades are frowned upon on there and there are some poeple collecting some quite obscure plants on there.
trapa natans (rather banned in many states: AL, AZ, CT, FL, MA, ME, MI, NH, OK, SC, VT, WA, City of Chicago, Canada might explain why its hard to locate)
equisetum telmateia (Don't know that one)
Hippuris Vulgaris (not heat tolerant)
Stratiotes Aloides (Reuires either very hard, or soft water, can't recall which)
Victoria Adventure is a private list which hijacked access to the membership list of the iwgs, very much against the wishes of many iwgs members
That a small number of folk dictate opinion, intimidate and slander others, arbitrarily exclude and insult folk with an active interest in water gardening have very much dragged that small clique into disrepute.
Folk with any active interest water gardening, waterlilies, aquatic plants, selling a few plants, exchanging or discussing trades are insulted and thrown off Kit Knotts list very quick. It conflicts with their commercial members commercial interests.
You might check out koishack, koiphen, jb-forums, for a friendly, well moderated pond and water gardening chinwag for hard to find stuff among far more civil folk

Credit where its due Azreno.
Anyone trying to mention trading or selling plants on victoria adventures mailing list (Kit Knotts private list), thinking it is some sort of reputable place where an active interest in water gardening is encouraged is likely to be sadly mistaken, insulted and thrown off
As a former member of the iwgs going back decades, I dropped my subscription when it became apparent that the 'opportunity to network with other members' turned out to be subject to the most appalling moderation I have ever come across
-------------equisetum telmateia-------------------- I think I saw someone offering this on gardenweb (You would be thrown off Kit Knotts list for mentioning this, probably...)

I have seen trading taken very well on there Andy, for collecting purposes of course, not commercial. And even if not for trading, as a resource for finding something can be valuable.
Having had similar problems with more than one moderator, do you ever start to look inward at how you respond to others? I mean if everyone else can get along with everyone else, except you, and you can't seem to get along with anyone else, is it really everyone else that has the problem?
I would add I never would have said anything but you really are a huge cup of negativity toward anything you haven't personally blessed. You really can't operate like that and expect to be received well over time, can you?
But you've had a bad experience and so must warn the world to the danger and protect them from same danger.........all the while they could have a very peaceful coexistense with said danger. Can they not?
I would like ANY type of pond plants. I have have a 600 gallon pondless system with a waterfall and 55 ft stream. I would like a few plants for the pond. Anyone have to much of something they would trade or send for postage?
Kathy

Craigslist is another place, where I'd be be a bit cautious about going for gardening advice, the moderation seems to let trolls and nutty folk flock...
I've only come across the one small clique that consistently displays malicious, devious and abusive behaviour in recent times, reno.
Fortunately most folk, and forums like Koiphen, Koishack, jb-forums, and a few others are wise to such juvenile rackateering

Brian, I am sorry your thread turned into this, I was trying to be helpful in your search. I know how hard it can be to find plants sometimes, been on a search for some natives myself and they are hard to find, but it helps if you have contacts with others who may know.
Lynn
Thanks Lynn I was able to find the trapa natans and if the others only like cold water it may explain why I don't see them around. Of course all the drama was not something I had planned to hear but I have been in many groups and I see it often unfortunatly I try my best to just stay out of it and keep my mouth shut. I have far to many things to do with my time than argue and complain with other.
Plants that only like cold water? No wonder they haven't crossed my radar :)

This source has both tropical and hardy pond and aquarium plants.
They have a fair selection of the unusual. You need to carefully do your homework in advance if purchasing from this site.
