chickens molting

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

I just looked out the window, and most of my Aussies are in full molt. In fact, if we were to kill a couple of hens, we wouldn't even have to pluck them. They are already plucked. Poor babies, they look so funny without their feathers. I hadn't noticed that they were that naked until just now.

Here is a picture of one hen. She is not the worst, either.

OMG.......Poor thing. I have a few i hope are molting. I think it would be an early molt as they are just a yr old....but i over-heated the coop so i think it might have to do with it.

Oh Granny! That is really disturbing. Have they no shame, parading around like that!:0)

I guess not. Poor babies, think maybe I should knit some pants and sweaters for them?

Mine are also a year old this week. So, I guess it's time for the spring molt, but it just looks so awful this time.
