Anyone interested in loop lock plant labels?
Before you commit to an order, let me check my local supplier.I use a lot of the white ones and the price I pay is a lot less than that quoted on the above link. They would be white of course.I will weigh a roll to see how much shipping would be from me to you.
Going from memory the price per roll of 1000 is just over 20.00 .
Rats! We just posted the order thread this afternoon. Thanks though.
gone2seed, please let me know the for sure price as soon as you know. If everyone is willing and it's alot cheaper, we may switch.
OK,I will call the supply place Monday and post Monday afternoon.
Thanks! I will need to take into account the postage also. Might as well save a few bucks when we can!
Jt, are these the soft plastic? Some get hard fast if out in the sun and crack and fall off.
Ken, do you use these labels? If so, where do you get yours??
These are soft plastic,7 1/4 x 5/8 and I have never had trouble with them getting hard. That said, almost any plastic will deteriorate in direct sunlight, if left long enough.Even our gh plastic gives up after 5 years. We use hard plastic lables in our pots and use the soft plastic for shipping and to tag seedpods. Those on the pods stay there for months. While I'm checking I will also check the garden markers and hard plastic lables.
The soft plastic I've used haven't ever fallen apart in our heat - but the names have often faded off them . I still don't know if one of my plants is Rosabelle or Rosabella because it faded so much ..... and my memory isn't what it was in years past. I treated myself to the Impress-0-Tags for Christmas and I'll never lose the names anymore. However, I'm not too keen on the wires used to attach them to the plants. I'll have to come up with something else for attaching them.

The vinyl flex tags will stay flexible for several years but the plastic flex tags will deteriorate in less than a year. I do like the 7 1/4 length. It gives you room for, so and so X so and so by so and so.

mpabbott1, what did you use to mark them with? They say sharpies wear off quick outside cause they aren't really waterproof. They make special pens you can use, but several have told me to just go to Walmarts and get the embroidery paint tubes they have. Waterproof and last for years. I figure they may take awhile to dry though.
Yes, I did you a Sharpie so-called permanent marker on them. On my shade plants they worked fine and didn't fade, but it certainly wasn't 'permanent' on the ones that got a bit of sun. I still use them on tender green cuttings and switch to the impress-o-tags when the stem is thicker skinned. The wires used on the impress-o-tags could cut into a tender cutting. I bought the impress-o-tags by the thousand and kept a couple hundred for myself, and gave the rest away as Christmas gifts to some of my plant loving friends.
I'll have to check out the embroidery paint next time I'm at Walmart. Thanks for the tip.

I have a bunch leftover from a project I did 3 years ago. (painting instead of embroidery on quilt tops for grandkids!) I'll have to dig them out and see if they are still good!
OK,The price of the soft tags is 22.63 per thousand. They also carry excellent garden markers that don't fade in sunlight. These are 2.11 each.We have used these markers for 3 or 4 years and have never had any fading. There is also that hard plastic pot label but they are out of those. They currently have a dozen rolls of the soft "tree tags" and a good supply of the markers. Now I need to get a weight on the tags. The markers weight very little(2-3 oz)
Will this company ship to each participant? If they do and the total with shipping is less than $30.00, they ARE cheaper!
Hillbilly_gran started a coop for all colored markers for 2.04 already.
No one has wanted 1000 yet. Mostly orders of 100 or 200, a few 400 or 500.
Thanks for all your work!!!
This company does not ship.I would have to buy the tags and mail them to whomever was in charge of the co-op.
Oh. Does the 22.63 include taxes??
There are no taxes. We would buy them through our nursery.
Could you get me a couple of rolls? What doesn't sell in the coop, I will keep myself! Thanks again. Let me know how yuo want the moneys.
Hi,
You can Paypal the money to countrygdn@yahoo.com.Wait until I weigh a roll and then you can add priority postage from 32583.I'll get the weight today and let you know.
I use priority since the difference is usually just a few cents.
That's fine. Just let me know and I'll get it on it's way. And thanks again!!! :-)
The weight is 2 pounds 12 oz per roll.Postage for 6 pounds should cover both rolls and the package.
Sounds like a good deal, Cat. Thanks JT.
Yes it does! Will get paypal sent right away
