Questions, questions (this time: angelonia)

Sugar Land, TX

I've grown the white angelonia from the Serena series, and would like more angelonia.

Which varieties are growing and blooming well for you?

Thanks for sharing!

Hello Jo! I'm not familiar with this plant, just wanted to say howdy.

Jo, I'm also growing the white one. I put it out last spring and it's bloomed non stop since then. It's in a mixed foundation planting on the south side of the house and it's done really well. It got a lot bigger than I thought it would, so I have trimmed it back once. It didn't suffer this winter at all. I'd love to find a pink or purple one.

Here it is in a mixed bed with melampodium, blue daze, cupheas, salvias, begonias and black pearl pepper.

You lucky people in the warm weather. It is a nice enough plant for me to use as an annual.

I have the purple, the white and the lavender. All are A. serena. I kept them in pots and moved the pots in a plant shelter for winter. The foliage is making a great comeback this spring. The purple was my favorite and this is a photo of the purple from last summer... I may have seeds for all colors if interested.

Two years ago I planted a bed devoted to roses, and underplanted with white angelonia and blue daze. It was gorgeous.

Are those pictures of 1 plant or did ya'll plant a grouping? I just bought 4...2 white and 2 purple. I'm wondering if I should plant as a group or intersperse throughout the beds.

My picture was a single plant.

Wow....I had no idea. How big is the spread?

Last year it was about 12 inches. Not long after I planted it, it bloomed out and got fairly shabby looking. I sheard it back to about 6 inches high and came back fuller and bloomed even better.

Mine was about 3 or 4 plants in a pot. They would bloomed till they burned out. I also would shear them back, water well and stand back. They are remarkable.

Mine was one plant. I planted several, but they are interspersed thoughout the mixed plant bed. The one in the photo is a single plant. Each one is about 18 to 24 inches x same.
