I live in north alabama my plants are starting to bloom I grew them from seedlings in feb in my GH?
Help!!!!
CAN I plant my tomato plants yet?
As long as it's after your last average frost date, you should be fine. And even if it's close, as long as you're prepared to baby them a little bit if the weather changes, it should be okay.
Good luck!
As hard as it is to do, when you plant your tomatoes outside, pinch off all of the blooms. I know, I know...breaks your heart..(and mine too, but I do it) The tomato plant needs to establish a good root system before trying to produce fruit.
You don't have to do it more than once. just pick them off as you set out the transplants. The next flush that will set will be much healthier for the plant. you'll get more and better tomatoes per plant in the long run if you do.
