Swiss Spaghetti Harvest (BBC 1957)
What was that plant a catalpa? Or fake. I'm too tired to get it if it was a joke. Which it could have been.
Heidi -
It was an April Fools' Day joke done by the BBC in 1957 - to pretend that spaghetti really grew on trees. I'm not sure what they plant was - they just draped a bunch of spaghetti on it to make it look like the spaghetti grew on trees. Apparently there were quite a few viewers who actually fell for it . . . clearly not gardeners (or past officionados).
Thank goodness I'm blonde. I thought it could have been real. Heeeee Heeee
But Heidi - you did't have to confess it!! Besides, you were focused on the trees. How many people knew they were catalpa?
Thanks for being nice. I'm honest and can't hide it most the time. You get what you see. I'm usually so tired I don't get most things. Heidi
I senond the sister thing. I we really are both the same we do have a few little things in common besides the gardening adiction. Heidi
