BOP hardy test

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

I said I would report back about my Strelitzia reginae.

It was outside up against a south and east facing wall.

Handled 30 degrees fine, 25 degrees and it died right back.

Didn't kill it though, I see them growing again so the cold won't kill them but it's not looking good for flowers right now. I guess if I have a winter where the temps don't go much under 32 I'll do alright. 25 was to much but didn't kill the plant.

Looks like more of a foliage plant unless you bring it inside.

Darn! Well if it didn't make it through your zone 9a winter, then I don't have any hope for my zone 8a.
On the other hand, it's a great foliage plant.

the same happened for me, on my white bop, but the normal orange one is fine
