Bosco Stuie Young Dec. 1, 1993 - April 1, 2008

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

Our beloved Bosco ended his battle with DCM, spinal stenosis and kidney failure today at 3:30pm.
His day began joyfully, as always, with breakfast with his siblings and we then left for his 9am acupuncture appointment. He happily came home to rest and I left to run some errands.
On my return, I found him unable to walk and his abdomen terribly distended. I rushed him to his general vet, 5min. away and Margo was able to get a stomach tube down him to relieve the gas pressure. Color returned to his gums, the fire in his eyes returned and we made the decision to have him spend the night to receive IV fluids and anti spasmodic medications.
At 2:30, I got an urgent call from Margo to get down to the hospital immediately. Bosco had stopped breathing and she put him on a respriator. I was there in a flash, and he was breathing on his own....but the heart rate was off the charts. Two vets; Margo and Sarah, Kara and myself (both techs) worked on him for an hour. His breathing ceased; his big brown eyes closed and the fifteen years of joy he gave both his beloved Frank - and I - came to a quiet close.

Somewhere in the cloudy sky tonight, the Dog Star...Cereus....shines brightly.
Please, my friends, wish Bosco Godspeed and hug your beloved canines (and kitties as well) tonight for us.

I have lost a huge part of my heart, and part of my Frank as well. Leslie
