I attended this last year, really nice unique plants......but it is a crazy at the start as people jockey for their favorite plants. It is funny to watch these folks running with their wagons to get the goodies.
I hope to make it again this year.

This will be my first year, although one of my coworkers has warned me it is a bit of a mad house lol.

You will love it.
Take lots of $$, wear good running shoes, take a wagon, do not be shy.
At about 8:00 you can look and locate the things you want. At 9:00 you get lined up and then the fun begins. Many want the same things so the mad house is on.
Hope to make it too.

Dde has a very sharp eye. He observed to me correctly on dmail the SFA plant sale is Saturday April 12th, not April the 14th, as the one of the other SFA web site states.

I'll be under the tent collecting $. Look for the lady with the little white dog, if you wanna say hey to a DG friend.

As an aside, I saw DD's lovely wife on the 10:00 news tonight, on a TV station out of Tyler.

I would encourage blueflower10 and aggiegirl along with any other ET's in reasonable driving range to no only make it to the plant sale, but come volunteer at the horticulture dept of SFA, and/or attend the gardening lectures. You'll make instant friends and the kind folks there will find something enjoyable for you to do. I'm not a frequent flyer myself, but am always so glad when I'm amongst that group. Come on, there's room for you to!

Lufkin, TX(Zone 8b)

well i don't get into nac too often -- the narrow streets drive me insane, although i love the brick. but i am definitely looking forward to the sale!! a friend and i are planning on meeting here in lufkin at 7:30 and heading that way so i can peruse before the melee begins. i'm not entirely sure where exactly it is we're headed, but i think she does. now tell me about getting lined up -- is it by section or plant -- do you give someone a list to pull or just find search for what you're looking for?

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

The scout out time is important as this in when you locate the section where your plant interest are. Remember this is on a football field. Rows and rows of plants separated by types. At 9:00 all lookers are called back to the start line. Then all go to the plants they want. Some plants are limited in numbers so that is the melee area. Other things are plentiful so you can take your time with them.
Take a wagon as you will need it to haul you many wonderful finds.
Hope to see you there.
DD
