The Cherokee Co. MGA is having a plant sale on April 19, Saturday. It will be on Hwy 69 in town near the Whataburger. I know this is the same date as the Tyler Men's club sale and I will hate to miss that one. Plan on coming down as there will be many goodies to get. We will sale only member grown plants and I think there will be a very good selection. Individual members seem to specalize in different type plants. Examples will be many heirloom bulbs, varieties of daylilies, oakleaf hydrageas, wild hydrageas ( Chasmere bouquet sp. ?) , tropicals, unique ground covers and neat hanging baskets. If you plan of the Tyler sale just come on down and double your pleasure !
On May 3 the Garden Tour will be that Saturday. This will feature gardens of some of the old homes of Jacksonville. Tour only is $5 and Tour and meal at the Larissa House is $15. This will benefit the HOPE organization, a nonprofit that assist the poor of the community.
Come on down, it will be fun.
Also discussions are in place for a RU at the Love's Lookout rest area here. This is a beautiful site for such an event. I think that Dave of DG will be in the area and attend the plant sale and maybe even the RU depending on the date we set for it.
