Fragrant, long-blooming vine

Battle Ground, WA(Zone 8a)

In your experience, what is the most fragrant, longest blooming vine to plant in the PNW garden? I just took out a honeysuckle which was doing marvelously in terms of foliage. But though it had very good bloom, it had no fragrance. This is to be planted quite close to an outdoor patio with the idea that it will bring its fragrance across the patio in the afternoon. What would you suggest? One of the jasmines? Or?

I was looking this information up over the weekend & thought these might be some basic, but useful links for you.
I will be looking for Pikake (Jasmine sambac). I used to have it in my garden in Hawaii. it seemed to never stop blooming, and the smell is intoxicating. Here it will be indoors, except in summer when it goes out on the patio with the Brugmansias.
I too, have a Honeysuckle - mine is quite fragrant, but really only noticeable in the late afternoon to early evening. Some are more fragrant than others.

I am very new with Vines, But I know that Cattledogs, who owns Dragonfly Farms would have the answer. I just bought a OOPS forgot to write it down, have to go look. But it is a Honey Suckle and very fragrant. Give her a D-Mail.

Hi Tilly - is it a Halliana?
What colour are the flowers going to be?

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Yellowish Is what Heidi told me, it has no tag. Dang it.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Probably a Halliana. Mine is creamy white then turns yellow.
Very nice in the early evening.

Thats what Heidi said, has small leaves? Dont know if you can see it in the pic. But it is a baby, on the right side by the red siding.

I was eyeing some Akebia this weekend at Cisitus-they have a very nice pale white one that I thought was nicely scented (just getting over a cold, so can't smell as well as usual), but I don't know how long it blooms.

Hardy as anything, and cooperative - what about one of the wonderful rambling roses that David Austin breeds - old fashion fragrances, beautiful blooms, and virtually trouble free (that is what he bred out!) He grows some smashing ramblers. I will find the link

there you go - I know he can send abroad, but I think he also has suppliers in the US - click on your flag.

I think the one tilly got is lonicera purpurea. I have it on a trellis here and people always coment on how it smells like Hawaii. What I like about it is that it is semi'evergreen with purplish leaves and a little better behaved. Some can get huge. This has also been better with the aphids. Some just get covered. I think it is a 10.

That was it, Thanks Heidi, writing it down, I have such a bad memory.

Is any one else seeing pink, on these treads, or has my computer gone nuts?

I think it has to be an April fools joke. Pretty glaring. I have an awful Migraine headache and the pink isn't helping.

I found out it was, and from DAVE himself, I thought my computer whent nuts. LOL

So glad you like them MHF, I have just planted out another batch - I so liked the ones last year that I decided to bulk up the plantings abit, adding 2 more each of the three different varieties I had - Lady Emma Hamiliton, Summer Song and Jude the Obscure - the fragrance is deeeeeliccioussssss. We also have a longish stretch of the old wrought iron railing still in place, and I have the rambling Generous Gardener along that - it starts blooming in June, and was still going in December - we cut some for the christmas table!!! Now that is Generous.
