Every once is awhile when talking to my mom she lets out these little pearls from her past. Today she was talking about how her mom use to bake the best bread and make the best homemade soups. No recipes were ever written down.

My grandma was german and she died around 1969. Has anyone ever heard of a recipe like that. A coffee cake topped with apples and cottage cheese. I'd really like to find a recipe so I could make it for her Birthday the end of April.
