I've been a baaaaad clem mommie

I didn't prune a couple of my group III clems, mainly because they sort of disappeared on me. Now have begun to bloom. What are the consequences of not pruning? bad mommie, bad!

LOL..hey girl..you can still prune...it's never too late..what happens with pruning group 3's when not pruned is that they will bloom higher up on the vine..the reason is that they won't bloom on the old vines but the new ones produced during the growing season...Jeanne

That happens. Just prune them AFTER they finish flowering. You don't want to cut off any of those beautiful flowers! When you prune, give them another dose of fertilizer and re-mulch. They should give you another show of color in late Summer.
