Need some expert hummer advice ...

I have a bit of a dilemma. Yesterday I changed up my feeders. I changed out the 4-hanger metal pole for a single shephard's hook pole. Which also means I am only hanging one feeder now instead of two. I also moved the feeder/pole to a slightly different location. It's a little closer to the house and just a couple feet from the original spot. I have seen the hummer zipping around the new pole and location, but it is NOT nectaring from the feeder at all. It usually flies in and sits and sips for long periods of time. My biggest fear is of course that it may leave to find another feeders somewhere else since I disturbed it's feeder here in my yard.

My questions:

1) Will my hummer eventually use the feeder at it's new location?

2) Should I continue to give the hummer 2 feeders to choose from?

3) Any other helpful suggestions about my situation?

Thanks in advance!

Well ... never mind! I have been watching this hummer zip around and around the new pole and the feeder. It's nectaring from all the many blooms around it, but not the feeder. It keeps coming back and forth like it is checking the security of the new location or something. Smart bird!

Anyway ... it FINALLY landed on the feeder!!! Funny thing is that the feeder was partly in the sun and partly in the shade, so it flew over to the shady part of the feeder to perch. Which mind you is the WHOLE reason I moved the pole location! I had noticed that it only perches for long periods of time in the late afternoon when the feeder is finally shaded. So I figured I'd move it to a more shady area so that it could perch all day if it wanted to. Well, it looks like ... it finally decided to enjoy the new location and seems content with just one feeder to use as well. YAY!!! Whew! I was getting worried! Y'all know how long it took me to get a hummer in my yard ... I would be kicking myself if I ran it off because I moved everything around! HA! Mine seems to be a very cautious bird! Safety first, I guess! LOL!
