I saw my Aunt today and we were talking about gardening.
She asked me if i knew of any plants, veggies in general, that would grow for her.
My Aunt and Uncle have a place in Lake of the Woods, ON
just outside of Sioux Narrows -- they are on an island somewhere.
and they are up there for the summer [May-ish thru Oct, or just before the ice forms]
She does have some sunshine, but she said her soil is lousy.
I'm not sure of her zone, though i could look that up.
I also told her she should be able to also grow columbine and hostas,
but i know she'd love some type of veggie -- since they are harder to come by up there.
any tips would be great.

Growing Veggies in Canada
Looks like she is in Zone 3A which is the same as my zone here in Calgary.
If her soil is poor maybe she could build some raised beds and amend the soil and then grow pretty well anything that will mature within her growing season( last frost to first frost) . I dont know what it is there.But I expect she could grow all the usual veggies. And I would expect she could grow way more than columbine and hosta!
