Search field issues

For a few days now, my desktop has been quirky. When I use any websites search feature I can only search once, then I have to go back out of the website and come back in to do another search. If I try to do a second search, it acts like the search field is not functioning. It does nothing.

This isn't happening when I use my laptop, so I know it's something with the desktop, but I can't figure out what it is, therefore I can't figure out how to fix it. There's not been anything new downloaded or installed, other than what Norton's does automatically.

Any ideas?
