My first Hibiscus

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

I've been wanting to get a Hibiscus for a while, but none of the ones I was seeing locally were thrilling me. Then, last week, I found this one at the local Houston Garden Center. It's just labeled "Blue Hibiscus." There are 4 different blue varieties listed in the PlantFiles - is there any way to identify the cultivar?

It's not really all that important - I like the color and am happy to have it - I'm just curious. It's my first Hibiscus and I think it's really pretty! :)

There are more cultivars of it than just the ones that are listed in Plant Files and really the only difference between most of them is that they're different shades from lavender to purple, so the chances of getting a match by comparing photos is pretty low. It may not be a named cultivar anyway--a lot of places sell ones that are just the straight species Alyogyne huegelii, so if it just came labelled as blue hibiscus chances are that's what it is and it doesn't have a cultivar name.

It may be called "Santa Cruz"...

Wow, it does look like that one!

I think this is the same one you got. I fell hard for this one at one of our local nurseries. It was labeled Lilac Hibiscus Alyogyne huegelii. One of my new favorites.
