a Friend just returned from Sicily.. and found this plant there... I'm advising him of things he might grow with a tropical look and I was wondering what it was..and if anyone was growing this out and getting flowering such as shown here on their plantings... Gordon

Agave attenuata... sadly once it flowers it dies. But my guess is there are a lot of offsets along the base of this plant out of the photo and it will go on... very easy plant to grow in warm climates... not sure how easy to grow or ever flower in cooler ones.

ThanksBob.. well...there's beter things for him here then... Sicily is about the latatude of VA/NC it seems .but the Med I'd imagine keeps it warmer in the winter there...
thanks so much for the shared expertice... Happy Spring for you...

OH.. with such a flower..and the seeds that would go along with a 10'flower.. I imagine it's pretty worn out after flowering.. and it gives the sprouting seeds some shelter
