Guineas eating Asian lady beetles

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

I have a question about guineas. Do they eat Asian varigated lady beetles. The ones that look like lady bugs but bite. We have a ton of them every year, and it would be nice of there was something that would eat them.

Hmmm, that a good question, I was told they eat everything but slugs. I will cross post your question on the guinea site I frequent. http://www.guineafowl.com/board/index.php

OK they said if thats what they learn to eat then thats what they will eat if the bug is too bad tasting. I have found my eat everything but these yucky yellow slime leaving slugs. I think we have those bugs too and they were picking them off my house last fall.

It could be that that was what you have too. They look very similar to lady bugs, but are a orange instead of red, have any number of black spots, and when you crush them, they stink and leave an orange spot on whatever they are on.

That's the asian varigated lady beetle that our government brought in to eat aphids in pecan trees in the south. The didn't think they would "over winter" in our climate. DUH!!! At times we have swept them up in the garage in buckets full. So, if guineas will eat them, wonderful.

My little quail eat them. The barn that is attached to the quail coops is where those little things love to hibernate, and in the spring the quail go crazy for them.

Thank you, talley. Just wondered if there was anything that would eat them. If your quail eat them, then it stands to reason that the guineas would too.
