dmichael619 has listed some awesome hoyas on ebay now. There are some really covetous plants - personally I am eyeballing the retusa. I think that he also has subcalva, incrassata, macrophylla variegated, latifolia IML 88 ( I really do have a thing for the latifiolias) Any way, here is a link to his auctions. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZdmichael619 I think that there is somewhere in the high twenties.
On another note, I got my cuttings from Jim Jacobs, and definitely have mixed reviews. Some, I am very happy with, others, I am a bit confused as to whether they were an honest mistake, or what the deal is. I have a phone call to him, to let him know where I am at, and am waiting for a response. With family that is huge into retail, customer service goes a long way with me.
Here is what I got. Mitrata - wonderful. Not feet of cutting, but a very healthy piece with new growth coming out of the cluster. Chouk, not bad. It is a little hoya, and I did get at least 7 nodes, so I cut it in half. H. sp. cebu. It is a nice hoya, and a very generous cutting. Again, 6 -7 nodes.
Now.....Here is where I am concerned. The most expensive hoya, hypolasia, 20.00 for a cutting I did not get at all, though the tag was in the box. Just not attached to a piece of hypolasia. Waymaniae - well, heeee heeee, I got a very nice, very generous piece of shepherdii. We will definitely discuss that. Finally, I got a really nice piece of c.v. optimistic. I did not order that one, and honestly am not a huge fan of eriostemmas. In fact, all of my eriostemmas have been combined into one pot, except for lauterbachii.
Now, I did let Mr. Jacobs know that I did not order optimistic, or shepherdii, and that I DO want hypolasia, or my $20 back, but am more than willing to return the cuttings that I did not order. Now we will see what happens.
Back to eBay hoyas, I did order a really nice diptera from Jan272724. I am very happy with this. It has the nicest roots that I have ever received on a hoya - the pot was just packed, and they were very thick, and very healthy.
Soooooo Hopefully I will feel well enough to post pictures soon. Terrible case of shrimp food poisoning going on, so bad in fact that my boxes came at 11:00 my time, but I couldn't handle being upright enough to open them until about 2:00. Now, you know I am sick, if I can ignore a box of hoyas. I wonder if my boss would follow that argument?
Cheers,
Sara
Hoyas on eBay
Sara,
I just saw David's hoyas on ebay.........he has great plants. I'm eyeing a few myself.
Hope you settle the issues with your last hoya order. ric
Ric, glad you mentioned it. It is good to see you posting again, I always remember the pictures you share of your gardens, and plants...
I have very satisfactorily dealt with my order from Mr. Jacobs. He was very helpful, and explained the situation with a couple of phone calls - one from his wife, and one from him.
His hypolasia plant is missing, so the cv. optimistic was sent instead, as well as a refund for the cost of my hypolasia. The plant that I thought was shepherdii is not, it is wayettii, and honestly, the leaves are different than those on the kentiana, and the shepherdii plants. He apparently heard wayettii, not waymaniae. Not a biggie. I will put pictures up as soon as I am not so dizzy, but in the meantime, wanted to say that I am impressed with how approachable Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs are.
Cheers,
Sara
H. hypolasia is a tricky one to grow...and even trickier to receive in the post in good condition. The vines are very very thin....it is nOT easy to grow out...shade, lots of water, indirect bright light and WARM.
There are more hoyas on ebay that are being listed by and ex-daves garden member. Ms Kitty has beautiful hoyas and a rather extensive collection, and is offering nice, healthy cuttings. Here is the link to her auctions if anyone is interested.

I am interested when a new source for hoyas becomes available, and just thought I would pass it on.
Cheers,
Sara
Wow, hoya season is upon us. Yet another member of this forum has hoyas on ebay now. Here are hoyas from aloha hoya. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZalohahoya There are three really nice, large plants available - obscura, sp. from Thai #3, and another that I can't remember off the top of my head.
Edited to say: my orig. link didn't work, had to try again.
