"Butterfly Red Penta" variety good for butterflies?

Sugar Land, TX

Anyone growing this particular variety? I'm putting in nine in a side bed. I sure hope they have some nice nectar for the butterflies!

No, but I have noticed that Gulf Frits seem to like red pentas. I got this photo at my favorite local plant shop.

yes butterflies love them and it is the host plant for the Tersa Sphinx Moth

I planted a couple of bright red ones last year, and they still look good. I saw BF's on them, quite abit. I just purchase 2 more that are alittle darker red, just to see if the darker color makes any difference.

Been looking for some of them lately Jo!! Donna is right butterflies really like the Pentas and so do Tersa Sphinx... as she said they use it as a larval host plant. :-)

Here was a Tersa I raised last year... Amazing night pollinators! Beautiful moths!
