I have several Sally Holmes on 6-ft wire fencing established exactly for the purpose of climbing roses and other vines. Sally Holmes does well in the Central Valley of California ZONE 9 with probably 8+ hours sun daily at the height of summer.

Can you folks tell me how this lovely compares to Sally? I'd like to put it on an east-west wall with sun from 7a to 7p, which may be too much of our desert sun. But oh, wouldn't I love to have her here as well?!

Thanks,
Linda

Linda-
This one in the picture is in full sun, facing due south in zone 8a. It does just fine, even in our 100+ degree weather in summer.

The only consideration I might suggest is that the soft pink can be bleached in our extreme sun, and look white, instead of pink(as it does in this picture)

I've never seen it with burnt tips on the leaves, but being a zone warmer, you may or may not experience some of this, but hard to say.

Aaah, thanks, T! It is mighty tempting. She sounds much like Sally, actually, even the height. I took the attached pic yesterday, early evening, obviously above my head and surrounded by even more branches preparing to pop forth with late summer bouquets. Hmmm . . . . Linda
