Bromeliads and Koi Pond

Winter Park, FL

Here's a picture of my large pond - 10,000 gallons and home to 21 Japanese Koi - many of them awarded. The broms are everywhere because I constantly move them in the winter. I am just getting ready to set them all for summer sun - so the landscape will change dramatically. We have our local "Pond Tour" in May - so I have to be "set" by then. This is all my "therapy" ........... I don't really know if it keeps me reasonably sane - or makes me nuttier than I already am .......... but it sure keeps me happy!

Wonderful collection and beautiful setup.
Your broms are in pots, can you try them in ground?

Hi Kaleem ........

I keep all of my broms in pots so I can move them to take advantage of the changing sun exposure. I do not have room in the ground - since I have permanent shrubbery planted all around the perimeter of the yard - and - as you can see - the rest of the yard is covered with pavers. We also get some very cold weather in the winter, and I occasionally have to move everything indoors to prevent cold damage.

Beautiful broms and pond there John! I too keep my broms in pots, and bury them in the ground so i can move if and when required! Looks like you have a nice selection there. Would love a closer look! I wish I could take a walk when you open your garden!
