Hi, I'm a newcomer to DG and love trading seeds. Seeds only, because that's all that works for mailing here. I am looking for possibly a small "mixed bag" sort of thing of assorted gesneriads. At the moment, all I own are a few sinningias (Florist's Gloxinias, but pretty double ones) and several episcia rooted cuttings I brought back with me from Canada a few months ago. Having said all that, I am dying to get a hold of some seeds from E. dianthiflora, lol! Please check out my Tradelist to see if a trade is possible. Sorry I don't have gesneriad seeds to offer at the moment, just a few tropicals.
Thanks!

My first post here!
Welcome to the AV forum :))
Hopefully somebody will be able to help you find what you want. None of mine make seeds since they have to spend their entire lives indoors.
Thanks threegardeners! I guess you would have to fuss around with hand pollenating without any natural pollenators around, lol!
The best source of gesneriad seeds would be :
http://www.brazilplants.com/
His name is Mauro and this is the second year I have ordered seeds from him. They are very viable........and it doesn't take but a couple of weeks at the most to get them........good luck................
Thank-you gessiegail! I will check that out. Brazil isn't that far from here, well a few hours on a plane anyway. You can't just hop in the car and drive there, lol! If he mails seeds, there's no problem.

Welcome to the AV forum! I don't have seeds, either, but hope you will still join us.
We love seeing pictures!!
(hint,hint)
So do I lol! I wish I had more gesneriads to take pictures of, but I need to get some plants started first (hint, hint). My gloxinias are very "plain Jane", but I will track them down and post them. I think the dbl. pink one is actually quite pretty! They're just nothing "special" compared to what you guys have in your collections!
Beautiful!!
I love gloxinias.
Thanks threegardeners! Yes, I like them too. There is a lady that sells plants sort of "on the street", but it's actually just outside a large Hardware Store. Anyway, she often has gloxinias and they only cost a buck a plant. I figure at that price I can't go wrong, lol! Too bad she never has any other gesneriads or miniatures, which is what I'd really like!
Mauro's seeds are the best! He just mails them for a couple of dollars............
Thanks again gessiegail, that's really helpful. I still haven't had time to browse the site yet. Right now I have to run out to grab some seeds and cuttings lol, so I'm going to check it out when I get back.
