Did you look under the plant name? Go to your link and click on the image tab.

Dangerous site indeed - k, need a little help here - I have two Rose of Sharon's I am contemplating moving from my back yard (or tossing unless someone wants them) - I bought them as "sticks" and they took off last year and became huge, taking up planting space I need in the back - so, I cut them back severely yesterday and I am thinking of planting them in containers for my front steps, with sun loving annuals around them - would they be good for containers?

Yeah! IF you like 12' high shrubs in your containers! Hmmmmmmmmm.....

Chris...well duh! I didn't even see that tab, was just doing a search under your link!

Becky, you would need some pretty large containers!!! Of course you could keep them pruned back in the container but I'm thinking because of their size and the fact they grow so fast, they'd demand ALOT of water!

rcn... Right above the name "Diamond Frost" there are tabs for the plant. "Overview" which is open when you click on the link. The second tab is "Images" the 3rd tab is "Awards" the 4th "Rate Plant"

When I click on the "Image" tab it opens up a group of pictures showing the plant and combination pots using the plant.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info - I think they are pretty - but, since they DO take up so much space in the back....maybe I'll plant them in containers, maybe not - I have a couple of HUGE planters I could use - or, they'll go bye-bye :) Hmmm food for thought

Bec, Could you train it into a standard?

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

How do I do that? Just keep pruning?

Bec, see if there is a main dominate "trunk" or pick one out to be the main one. Remove the ones you don't want, Start at the bottom and work your way up to the height you want. Think of it as a tootsie roll pop. If you were thinking about getting rid of it you don't have anything to loose. One thing I learned is don't cut everything away at first, take a break and go back even if its a few days. Sometimes your eye will pick up details later on in the trimming process.
If you decide to try this take pictures. I'd love to see. ☺

Bec, I found a pic on the net. It just shows the top but it will give you an idea on triming that later as it grows. (scroll down a ways on the site)
