sprouting time

Louisville, KY(Zone 6a)

I have planted some candidum and wand flowers. I planted them inside to be warm. This is the first time I have done this so can anyone tell me how long it will take them to sprout? Just so I can get an idea.

Thanks
Nancy

I usually start my caladiums indoors too. I've always found them slow to get started, but once they're outside and the weather warms up they start growing fast. Be patient, they'll finally sprout. Warm soil helps, some recommend a heat mat.

Thanks for your information. What do you do with yours in the winter? How do you store them?

The last couple of years I've grown them in containers, and just pop the whole thing into the basement for winter. When I grew them in the ground I stored them in bags of peat moss. I've had them dry out too much in winter before, and the peat has been a good preventative measure.

thanks again, I am growing mine in a container also. So that will be handy.
