I just got a maranta variegata bulb with no information on how deep to plant the bulb. Does anyone have any idea how deep I plant it? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks
Dorothy
Maranta Variegata Bulbs
When I asked Buried Treasures they said about 4 inches. :)
doubra, I have been to Houma. First place I learned to eat oysters. Another life.

oops, I planted mine right below the surface and they look alright
So did I...I started it in a pot indoors...I figured when it goes outside with mulch and all it will be fine.... guess I will find out lol.
they will be fine, I started mine in pots last year, moved them into the garden and then back into pots in the GH. they were planted shallow every time and growing well. you'll need to divide them before you know it, I did plant mine too close together. I like them (wish they were hardy) a lot for color under trees
Thanks everyone for the input. Buried Treasures is where I got it from and they have not returned either of my emails and have not returned my phone call. Right now they are not at the top of my list.

I'm surprised, Chris gets backed to me within a day or so.

We may have overwhelmed him with the DG co-op that is running now.
Yep
Had to take out a 2nd mortgage.LOL It was great of him to pull with Agri-Start for a super selection. All the coordinators are doing super and so organized.
Unfortunately I was indeed slow in responding to her. Her purchase and question came at the first week of busy season that was made even busier by the shipment from Thailand being split up. I normally deal with 1 large shipment coming from over seas at a time, and ended up with 2 from Thailand and 1 from India during the same week. Toss in the 7000 plants to pot, and 150 pre-orders to pack, I got about a week behind in emails.
A neutral was earned and left on GWD, but we're caught back up. The co-op week will be a little hectic, but I have some kind volunteers coming to help. :-)
