Hello Everyone from Colorado!

Fort Collins, CO

Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Vanessa aka Acacius48. I just joined up about a week ago. Just spent the week browsing around and getting the feel of the forums. :) I live in an apartment so I am a container gardener. The challenges of having to container grow has been really fun and a learning experience. I look forward to see you all in the forums!

Sincerely,
Vanessa

Hi Vanessa ! Welcome ! Gardening in containers or in the yard, is a great joy! Do you plant flowers, herbs, tomatoes, cacti, tropicals, or what type of plants, in your containers? I have a book on small gardens and there is a large section, on just container gardens and they are amazingly beautiful! So many great ideas! I wish you the best!

Hi Vanessa, I am pretty new here too, and just wanted to say “welcome!” I did the whole apartment container gardening thing for years, first on a cement patio, and later on the small balcony of a second story apartment. It really is amazing what you can do with containers and a tiny bit of space. I had no idea I could grow so many things on a balcony…and it didn’t even collapse ;-). I’d love to hear more about your container garden.

hello and welcome from upstate new york

Hello! Thank you guys for the warm welcome!! I have mostly flowering tropicals right now. Even though I have a small space gardening is so addictive I keep on adding to the list. I love learning about new plants and watching them grow. I have am just getting started with herbs and tomatoes. Mmm.. I cant wait for fresh tomatoes!! :) I planted the tiny tom tomatoes. Anyone have experience with this one? I wanted to try it cause it doesnt get very big like the regular toms! Only about 18 inches. That is going to be perfect for me. Especially cause it is just me and my boyfriend and he doesnt like tomatoes.(Can you believe it? haha) I have a little balcony for summer. But since I have tropicals and I live in Zone 5 I mostly garden inside under artificial lighting.
Sincerely,
Vanessa
