Colorful Buntings

Melbourne, FL

I got so many pics today I decided to start a thread for them. I'm not sure how much longer they will be here, they have usually headed further North by now.

Wonderful pics GP!

I love those Painted Buntings and the Indigo male!

Thanks Pelle, this was by far the most productive male Painted day...usually they stay hidden in the feeder or bushes.

It is always so refreshing to see your pics GP! I love the colorful birds as well as the beautiful plants you have in Florida. I wish those colorful birds would stop by my yard on their jouney north!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Those are really beauties GP very nice pictures of them. So many colors in those painted males.

Thanks, Dellrose and burn. I have been hosting the Buntings for about 4 years or so now, and there were so many Indigos this year at times their chirping has been almost annoying. I look forward to seeing the first one every fall.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I love your colorful buntings. I'm hoping to be able to attract them here at my house too one day. I've seen them as close as about 40 miles from here so my hopes are high. Also, my hubby didn't even have any opposition when I said I want to put in a fountain like the ones at the bird blinds in the state park where the water babbles over rocks into a pool or trough.

I'm here waiting for those Indigo's to show up!

Just beautiful gardenpom! I would love to see a Painted Bunting someday.

Nanny...I am looking for them too! I painted a multi-color X on my roof! LOL! I love these colorful birds!

I told dh a few weeks ago I was going to get a neon sign that said 'Bird Diner' with a big arrow flashing for the Pileated's! LOL

Thanks everyone. I didn't see nearly as many Buntings today...maybe they were getting their "baths" before heading North!

Gardenpom,

Thanks so much for sharing all the Bunting pics with us! They're beautiful pics! We've been looking forward to the Indigo Buntings and the Hummers to show up! And, the Rose Breasted Grosbeaks to stop and stay awhile during the Spring (and Fall) migration!

We don't get the Painted Buntings here (darn!), but aways love to see pics of them!

Thanks again, for the info on the Indigo Buntings on another thread!
