I recognize this is very common but I just purchased it at Lowes and all the tag says is Bromeliad. Could someone please give me the correct name so I can learn more about it?

Hi Jeff. It looks like a Guzmania. There are lots of different varieties. General rule is a bit of shade because the leaves are soft and will burn in direct sunlight.
