Scouring the internet daily for interesting horse stories I found this one:

I too have been in the situation of threat from vicious dogs. When riding Sugar a few years ago a pack of 'em came out of a trailer court snapping at my legs; I had to pull them up in the saddle, but Sugar casually cow-kicked them away. She wouldn't run so they lost interest. She is as steady as a rock and utterly unafraid of dogs, which was good for me!
