Dutch Iris Blooms almost here!

i was so excited to see a number of dutch iris bloomstalks today! i check my garden at least once a day, usually several times this time of year and i swear they werent there yesterday. after a whole winter with this crazy foliage, i cant wait to see the blooms. this is my first year with dutch iris and i planted about 200 bulbs mixed in with my other flowers. i will post some pics when they open!

I planted 200 bulbs total of three different Dutch Iris varieties and have not seen any bloomstalks yet, just leaves which have been around since fall (that is normal). In my past experience they start to bloom first week of April after they've settled in. Post pictures when yours pop!

dont they have craziest leaves? lol one of the blooms is just about to open, has been showing purple color for the last 2 days. i will defineately take pictures when they bloom.

dwr, looks like we have twins! arent they pretty? the colors almost look fake they are so vibrant. yours look great! i planted mine mixed in with a bunch of other stuff, but i like the ways yours look in a group.

I was so excited when mine started to bloom. My ds who is in 7th grade was with me in the yard when I started to sweet talk the beautiful blue flowers, and my boy says to me. "Those look like the flowers this guy painted for a picture in our classroom." Was his name Monet? Yea, mom do you know him? lol At least he recognized the flowers.
