How much sun can I give to Maya, a variegated plumeria?
How much sun for Maya?
I live in AZ and we have tons of sun. I let mine get direct sunlight in the morning (about 3-4 hours) and filtered sun the rest of the afternoon. So far it has been doing very well in this situation, but it still has not flowered for me. This will only be the second spring that I have had it though.

I put my variegated ones in filtered sun too. I think the leaves tend to burn in full sun here.
I let mine rip in full sun doesn't bother it look at the pictures in thailand hundreds of them in full sun.
Full sun in Thailand is not as intense as full sun in other parts of the world. We get over 110 here several times a summer...I would hate to see my Maya, Precious leaf, or especially the Sweet Syrup leaf after being in direct sun in those temps for a few days.

could the difference be the humidity?
Definitely:-) Humidity, elevation, and other factors too make a difference.
Most likely, in my case, it is the combination of very long full sun days, extreme heat, and dry weather.
yeah... i forgot... you're in the desert! minor detail!
that's probably why variegated plumies aren't in the wild.
Clare does yours have yellow on the stick too?
Hi Dana, yes, it has a variegated trunk as well.
