I have a couple of clumps of Society Garlic and quite a few NOID Purple Louisiana Iris.
I would love to trade for Stella De Oro Daylilies or just tempt me. Only ask that it is hardy in my zone.
Edited to add that I can be tempted by other things.

CLOSED: CLOSED: Have Society Garlic and NOID Purple Louisiana Iris
Hi,
What does NOID mean? lol, duh me. I have Stella's.
Kathy
No identification. I don't know the name of it. It took me a while to figure what that meant and even now, sometimes I forget and have to think about it. I can try to find a picture of the iris if you would be interested.
ohhhh, I though maybe it was a different kind of LA iris, they are not hardy for me here in Northern Ohio, but thank you anyway! And they are so pretty,,,,,,,,,sniff

What is Society Garlic? Susan

Thanks,

I would love some of the garlic but I don't have any day lillies, they just dont' seem to like growing on my place. If you would like some antique iris with no name I could trade that three rhyzmes for some. Thanks Susan
Do you happen to have a pic of your iris?
Yes My daughter took it with the pickup lights last night, they are at her house and she was going to mow them, but the granddaughter is in the iris society with me and wouldn't let her, we had started digging some because they are a mess, so this picture is dark but she is going to take some more in the day light so I'll post them too when she sends them to me. Thansk Susan
I would love to trade my society garlic for some of your iris. I have one good size clump, how many iris would you like to trade? Also, how tall do they get, so I can decide where to put them.
Thanks,
Sheila
I can get you at least 6 rhyzomes maybe more if I can get some that are not blooming. Now that they are blooming there is this one, one that is all dark purple and one with white on it. The lady's at the iris meeting thought this was a MTB and that the one in the picture was Mme Henri Cayeux 1924, If this would be enough I'll get them in the mail to you. If you would be interested in a veriaty I'll try to make sure you get some of each kind. Thanks Susan
A variety is great or just one kind works also, whatever works better for you. I have the perfect place to put them and have been wondering what I was going to put in that spot.
Would you be interested in a couple of Louisiana Iris thrown in or I have some unidentified bulbs (think they are some kind of daffodils, but they haven't bloomed for me, so I can't be sure). I would be happy to throw in a couple of either of those if you would like.
I will get yours in the mail early next week (either Monday or Tuesday). Are you in the address exchange? I am. If not, dmail me your address and I will get the package ready.
Thanks,
Sheila
I will take anything you have, I have some walking onions coming up and some old fashion holly hock seeds and a bag of mixed seeds, that I got in a trade I'll share some with you if you would like them. Susan
Sorry, I thought I had responded to you. Thanks for the offer, but I don't really do seeds (too impatient). What are walking onions?
Your box is going out today, so you should receive it in a couple of days.
Thanks,
Sheila
The mail order garden books call them egptian(cant spell) onions. They are an onion bulb that you can eat the tops like green onions or the whole thing but if they are left at the ends of each top there will be a bunch of small onions develope and then they will fall over and take root making new ones. I have them planted in two different places and they are doing good in mostly shade, cool and in the hot sun and they do good in bad or good soil. They are just now starting to come up threw the ground and if I can get a fence around them to keep the rabbits from eating them I will have some I can share now and then some in the fall when they start developing the babies. Susan
I'm not sure that I have a good place for them. You can just send the Iris and that will be fine.
Thanks,
Sheila
Ok It will be on its way this week. Thanks Susan
Sheila
Will they take our afternoon full sun or do I need to find them a protected or semi protected place? I'm actually getting some from another source.
Anne
The Louisiana Iris? If so, they can take full sun, but require more water in order to stay green during the summer. If they don't get enough water, they start to look a little ratty during the summer and die back, but return when it cools off some. I have them planted in full sun ALL DAY and it doesn't seem to bother them. Actually, guess the same is true of the society garlic, except it doesn't die back and nothing seems to bother it.
I'm being ditzy today. I meant the society garlic. sorry
Anne
I sent your iris today, and the confermation # is 03073330000049324722, Thanks Susan
Susan,
Thanks.
