Wanted MEXICAN HYDRANGEA ( Clerodendrum Bungei )

Waco, TX(Zone 8b)

I would really like to get some of the MEXICAN HYDRANGEA (Clerodendrum Bungei ) plants. I have read thay can get a little out of control, but I still want them. I would be willing to pay postage.

Thanks,
Clayton

Clayton I have a bunch I am fixing to pull and will be happy to ship for postage. Contact me by D-mail

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I toss about 100 every week (just kidding). They will come up everywhere but are easy to pull up when small.

Man, I must be doing something wrong, everybody's invasives are so slow to be invasive for me, I've had mine for 3 years now I think last fall it had l0 little plants, mine hasn't started coming out of the ground yet, I'll have to watch for l00 or so.

I love this plant, even if most think it's invasive. Someone must have had a stern talking to mine.

mine spread more this past summer when we got a lot of rain but didn't spread at much all when we were in drought summer before last

Hi Donna, I sent you a d-mail. Have you ever grown any of the other types?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Yes Clayton I love Clerodendrums. Right now I have Bungei, Indica, Ugandense(Blue Butterflies), Tritrictomum(spelling) Paniculata, and Specossisium. I got another one late last summer just labeled a Sp. Lady said it has pink butterfly shaped blooms. It hasn't bloomed yet and is still small. I have grown Phillipium(spelling)which is very invasive even in a pot, Both regular and variegated Quadrilaire(spelling), Walachii, and both colors of the Bleeding Heart ones.

Donna, is there a red flowering varity of clerodendrum. I received in a trade last year a seedling of the Trichotomum.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

yes Paniculata and Specissisium are both red flower bloomers

Waco, TX(Zone 8b)

I going to have to look them up. Does these and the other type attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Plus do they all have a good fragrants. I know the Ugandense(Blue Butterflies) doesn't have a fragrant, but I love the shape of the flower.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

hummer and butterflies love them, no scent. Nothing really goes to the Ugandense but like you I like the flowers

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Donna do you have all of your cleodendrums in pots or in the ground.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I have them all in the ground
