I posted this image in the plant ID forum and it was suggested that I post in this forum. My original post is at http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/824208/. It does look similar to a plant shown at http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/818649/ , but there are differences in the stems and leaf edges. Have added some additional photos. Can anyone ID this? Any help will be appreciated.
Begonia?? What kind?
Check Begonia ricinifolia.
There is another one similar to this one, but I can't for the life of me remember the name!
Seems like it starts with an 'M'....
LOL!! Well, the *second* letter was an 'M'...also check out B. 'Immense'...I'd bet yours is one of those two!

Nan - I think you are right. I have done a lot of looking. I had a hard time finding info on the Immense, but the Begonia ricinifolia does seem to look like my plant as seen at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/40/BegoniaRicinifoliaWPC.jpg. Thanks a lot.
Note: I copied this URL from my browser, but for some reason when I previewed the URL in this post, I received an error message. In case this happens to others, I am attaching the file from the above site.
I had trouble finding info on B. 'Immense', too, when I was trying to ID my plant.
Not sure, but 'Immense' might be a hybrid of which one 'parent' is ricinifolia.
I got my cutting from my sister years ago - it's one of my favorite plants!
I've found that it starts 'deteriorating' (like many begonias do) after it begins to get....well.....immense (lol!) but it has always rooted easily for me in water.
My plant is quite large also and I also read that they can be propagated in water or by cutting a 4" leaf, putting the end in Rootone and just planting it. I planted the leaf about a month ago in some potting medium and have kept it moist. It looks healthy and has not rotted so maybe it is going to grow. I need more plants like a hole in the head, but I decided just to try this.
