Cats with ringworm.

Seattle, WA

All comments welcome! One of my kitties that I adopted only last month now has a new case of ringworm. I only diagnose this because I was told by the shelter that she had recently come from "ringworm camp" and was now fine. I asked no questions about any of this, as she looked healthy and happy. Little did I know (sucker for a pretty face) that she had been traumatized and also not totally cured. Live and learn. The shelter is now closed until its next adoption event in April, so no news there. Everything I see online seems draconian in the way of remedies. Not to mention the fact that this cat has to literally be snared and tackled to perform and sort of "procedures" on her. A bath---forget it? Pills, and toxic ones at that? No way! Today I managed to daub one of her bloodied lesions with cider vinegar in an attempt to kill off the fungus while we await the miracle cure I have ordered online. Meanwhile, they say it is hideously contagious to both pets and people, and you might just as well burn down the house and all its contents to rid yourself of the contagion. I had thought about ditching this bad luck kitty, but, well, she's now one of us, whether she likes it or not! Pepper will be a year old in June.
